Project Scope
We provided district-wide site master planning, working with the district and architect on various options to address building addition locations and site infrastructure improvements including parking, sidewalks, roadways and athletic facilities. We attended several community/school board meetings during the pre-referendum stage to inform the public about the planned project resulting in a successful referendum.
One of the more notable parts of the project was the Long Beach Lido Athletic Complex - Veterans Field renovation of an existing cinder track and natural grass field. The new complex included a resilient surfaced track with 8 lane straight and 6 lane oval. The D-zones accommodate the high jump pits, two long jump/triple jump runways and a steeplechase water hazard. Pole vault runway, shot put throwing area and discus throwing area were constructed on the exterior of the track venue.
The synthetic turf infield was designed for football, soccer and lacrosse and included a four pole high intensity, environmentally friendly playfield lighting system. A raised grandstand bleacher system was designed for 1200 spectators and is attached to a three room press box with filming roof deck and high performance audio system.
